This notice covers the Local Slags website at localslags.com: the guides and information pages you're reading now. Your dating account, profile, messages and payments are handled in the members area at members.localslags.com, under the separate members-area privacy policy.

Who is responsible

The data controller for this website is Ambervine Inc, a Delaware company, 131 Continental Drive, Suite 305, Newark, DE 19713, USA. You can contact us about privacy through the members help centre.

What this website collects

Very little.

• No cookies. This website does not set cookies.
• No tracking or advertising. It runs no analytics, advertising or tracking scripts, and it doesn't build a profile of you.
• Server logs. The site is a static website hosted by Vercel. Like any web server, Vercel's servers record technical details of each request, such as your IP address, browser type and the page requested, to keep the service secure and working. Vercel describes this in its privacy notice.

We use these logs only for security and to keep the site running. Our lawful basis under the UK GDPR and the EU GDPR is our legitimate interest in operating a secure website.

If you use a join box

Some pages have a box where you can type your email address to start joining. When you press the button, what you've typed is sent to the members area at members.localslags.com/join. From that point it is handled under the members-area privacy policy, not this notice. This website doesn't keep a copy.

Your profile and the partner network

This is covered by the members-area policy, but it matters enough to repeat: Local Slags shares one member database with partner sites in the same network, so members of those sites can see your profile and message you. Payments are handled in the members area, where checkout shows the billing name used on card statements.

Links to other websites

Our guides link to the NHS, police services, regulators, charities and helplines. Those sites have their own privacy policies, and we don't control what they collect. Nothing you do on a health service's website is connected to your Local Slags account.

Where data is processed

Ambervine Inc is based in the United States and Vercel operates a global network, so server logs may be processed in the US and in other countries outside the UK and EU. If you have a question about this, contact us through the help centre.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to ask what personal data we hold about you, to have it corrected or deleted, to object to how it's used, or to complain to a regulator.

• UK: under the UK GDPR you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office. The ICO asks that you raise the issue with the organisation first.
• EU and EEA: under the GDPR you can complain to the data protection authority in the country where you live.
• US: several states, including California, give residents rights over their personal data. California residents can contact the California Privacy Protection Agency.

Because this website keeps only technical server logs and no accounts, most requests about your dating profile are best sent through the members help centre, where your account data is held.
