By the Local Slags editorial teamUpdated · 4 min read

In short

Local Slags is a UK casual dating site run by Ambervine Inc, a Delaware company based in Newark, Delaware. It shares one member database with partner sites in the same network. Its guides on consent, safety and sexual health are written from primary sources such as the NHS, police and legislation, and each is dated.

The company

Local Slags is run by Ambervine Inc, a Delaware company, 131 Continental Drive, Suite 305, Newark, DE 19713, USA. Membership is governed by the members-area terms, under Delaware law. Use of this information website is covered by our terms of use and privacy policy.

The name

"Local Slags" is a bit of British cheek, and it's stuck: people in the UK have known the name for more than a decade. We keep it as the brand. We don't use the word to describe anyone. Members are adults choosing casual dating on their own terms, and the site and its guides treat them that way.

Who Local Slags is for

Local Slags is for adults aged 18 and over, mostly in the UK, who want casual, no-strings dating with other consenting adults. It isn't a matchmaking service and doesn't pretend to be. Anyone under 18 can't join, and the guides are written for people who want to make their own decisions with the facts in front of them.

Two parts: this website and the members area

The Local Slags website you're reading is the information side: guides, facts and help. The members area, at members.localslags.com, is where you join, build a profile, chat and pay.

The network

Local Slags is one of several dating sites that share a single member database. In practice:

  • your profile can be seen, and you can be messaged, by members of partner sites in the same network;
  • a profile shows which site it was created on;
  • payments are made in the members area, where checkout shows the billing name that will appear on your card statement.

We say this plainly because it affects your privacy. The how it works page and the discretion guide explain what it means for your profile.

What the site checks

Every profile photo is reviewed before it goes live, and the photo rules don't allow nudity or underwear. What members write about themselves isn't checked. An ID-verified badge is available as an optional paid extra and is required only in some cases, such as sign-ups through a VPN or flagged accounts. We don't describe members as "verified" or "real", and we don't publish member numbers or success stories. The safety and consent page explains what that means when you're arranging to meet someone.

How we write our guides

This website was rebuilt in October 2026 to replace thousands of thin, automatically generated pages with a smaller set of guides that are actually useful. They follow a few rules:

  • Primary sources only. Health facts come from the NHS, NHS Wales, NHS Scotland and Health and Social Care in Northern Ireland; legal points from the legislation itself; phone numbers from the organisation's own website. Each guide lists its sources.
  • Dated. Every page shows when it was last checked. Phone numbers and clinic details change, so we re-check them rather than assume.
  • No invented people. No made-up testimonials, statistics or experts. Examples are labelled as examples.
  • Held until ready. If a page needs something we can't do ourselves, such as a specialist review, it isn't published until that's done.
  • UK first. Guides cover England, Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland separately where the law or services differ.

Nothing on this website is medical or legal advice. For your own situation, speak to a sexual health clinic, the police or a solicitor.

Corrections

If something on this website is wrong or out of date, tell us through the members help centre with the page address. We check it against the original source, fix the page if needed and update its date. We'd rather hear about an out-of-date phone number than have someone ring it.

Questions people ask

Who owns Local Slags?

Local Slags is run by Ambervine Inc, a Delaware company, 131 Continental Drive, Suite 305, Newark, DE 19713, USA. Membership is governed by the members-area terms, under Delaware law. The checkable details are collected on our key facts page.

Is Local Slags connected to other dating sites?

Yes. It's part of a network of sites that share one member database, so members of partner sites can see your profile and message you, and you may hear from people who joined elsewhere. Each profile shows which site it was created on. Bear that in mind when you choose your photos and username.

How do I contact you?

Through the members help centre at members.localslags.com/help. It handles account and billing questions, reports about a member's profile or messages, and errors on this website. If someone is in immediate danger, call 999 rather than contacting the site.

Who writes the guides?

The Local Slags editorial team, working from primary sources: the NHS and its equivalents in Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland, the police and fraud-reporting services, and the legislation itself. We don't use named experts or invented case studies, and each guide lists its sources and the date its facts were last checked.

I've spotted a mistake. How do I tell you?

Send the page address and what's wrong through the members help centre. Phone numbers, clinic details and laws change, so corrections are welcome. We check the point against the original source and update the page and its date if it needs changing.
